Orthodontist Approved Halloween Recipe
Do you know what is scarier than all the ghosts and monsters that crawl through the night? Cavities and broken braces! Let Halloween take a backseat (Okay, maybe passenger – we still love dressing up!) and take some time to honor National Orthodontic Health Month this October.
One extra tasty way is with this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Recipe approved by the American Association of Orthodontists. This treat is a safer option for your teeth: soft and non-chewy!
But sugar is sugar, so make sure you brush and floss!
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie (8oz servings)
- 1-15 oz can pure pumpkin
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup ice
- Whipped cream
- Crumbled Graham Crackers for Topping
Combine pumpkin, milk, half and half, yogurt, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in blender. Blend until smooth. Add ice and blend again.
Pour and top with whipped cream and crumbled graham crackers.
